Supplementary Aids & Services / Program Modifications

Possible supports might include:

• Instructional

  • ie, providing a proofreading checklist for written assignments

• Program modifications*

  • ie, breaking assignments into smaller amounts

• Social and behavior supports

  • ie, advance notification of schedule changing

• Physical and environment supports

  • ie, preferential seating

• Personal supports

  • ie, providing adult support

One important component of supplemental aids and services; just because an accommodation is available, does not necessarily mean that it can be implemented on your student's IEP. The supplements have to directly aid with the areas the student's exceptionality effects in relation to their academic performance.
